nectar
/ˈnɛktə/
Nectar is a liquid produced by plants which attracts pollinating insects and other animals, providing them with a source of nutrients. These insects and animals in turn provide pollination and protection to the plants. Nectar is ecologically important and plays a significant role in the foraging economics and overall evolution of nectar-eating species.
Vision
Nectar is a rural center for artistic creation, production and research located in the midst of nature in the off-the-grid 16th-century farmhouse, surrounded by endless forest inside Les Guilleries Natural Park, about 1h and 30min drive north from Barcelona, in the Pre-Pyrenees, where work and projects can be combined with passions and enriching activities by collaborating, innovating and connecting.
Nectar is founded on the belief that working in a sustainable, rural and collaborative environment away from the pressures of everyday life in the city can restore and empower people personally and professionally.
Nectar is an open and collaborative project, an inspiring and creative place of knowledge and training with a connotation of home, where individuals and groups become part of a community and stimulate their work through the exchange of ideas and perspectives. Through a series of activities such as courses, workshops, co-living experience, retreats or artists residencies, Nectar creates connections and connects skills between different disciplines and cultures, combining productivity with activity in the perfect setting.
We also work through open calls, where we purpose a matter of global responsibility and invite a multidisciplinary group of people to share knowledge, learn new skills and to work with creative solutions.

The house
The historic farmhouse is in the heart of the Les Guilleries natural park. At a height of 800 meters, it allows the enjoyment of the landscape around the Sau Reservoir with the high Pyrenees in the background.
Nectar offers a variety of work, rest and social spaces, both indoor and outdoor and six big furnished double rooms (private/shared).
The house is self-sufficient: we get the water from a spring and the electricity is solar powered.
Individual space and shared working studios are located in the main farmhouse. Indoor and outdoor spaces (two terraces, a patio, the land of the property and a 60m2 Moroccan tent) are open to each own's practice.
We welcome individuals that are searching for a place like Nectar to get their job done while sharing, getting to know other like minded people and open to collaboration and synergies. Moreover, we are open to groups such as research groups, start-ups, small companies, communities, families or collectives.
